During this challenging time of the CORONAVIRUS pandemic, these unique, live and interactive online writing & art-making classes provide kids worldwide, aged 5-12, a nurturing, fun and happy place to freely express themselves, their creativity and their feelings.
The kids in these classes are excited to write, draw, and make art while getting to personally interact with award-winning animation director, writer-illustrator, artist and master teacher, Kenny Mirman, who helps his young students discover a wholly fresh perspective and a positive way of seeing themselves in our world now.

How it Works
In each online KIDZ HOME class using live-video conference platform www.ZOOM.us (ZOOM is FREE to all participants and super easy to use!) teacher Kenny gives the kids a special topic for that day. He always makes it FUN, and shares examples from his own feelings and writings to help the kids feel safe, sometimes even with a sock puppet show he makes up on the spot!

Then the kids get to have fun talking and writing about their feelings regarding that day’s particular topic. Depending on how many kids are in the class, as many kids as possible get to read their words aloud if they’d like to. Reading aloud is always voluntary, and Kenny cheers for and encourages everyone who is there whether they read or not! The little ones who can’t write yet receive help from a parent or sibling to write and help share their feelings for them.

Then, based on the ANIMAL OR OBJECT OF THE DAY, each child in class DRAWS or MAKES SOMETHING that expresses their feelings, and shares their artwork on screen for all of us to see! Below, the kids in class are making their WORRY & DREAM DOLLS to put under their pillows to take their worries away and replace them with their dreams each night while they sleep.
WORRY & DREAMS DOLLS MADE IN CLASS BY EACH CHILD. WHILE THEY CONSTRUCTED THEM, THEY PUT THEIR WORRIES AND DREAMS INTO THEIR DOLLS…THEN THEY EACH PUT THEIR FINISHED DOLL UNDER THEIR PILLOW. THEY WERE HAPPY KNOWING THAT WHILE THEY SLEPT EACH NIGHT, THEIR DOLLS WOULD TAKE AWAY THEIR WORRIES AND FEARS AND REPLACE THEM WITH THEIR WISHES AND DREAMS.
